Serve the Community

First Baptist is committed to reaching and teaching people in Scott City, MO.  We share our faith and show love to our neighbors.  We are actively involved in:

CarePortal – First Baptist has joined CarePortal. CarePortal brings the needs of hurting children and families in your community to your attention. Child welfare workers uncover the needs. CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.

Scott City Ministerial Alliance – The Scott City Ministerial Alliance is a group of Churches and Pastors who have joined forces to help our community and support each other in the work of God.  Although we may differ in some areas we have joined forces to influence our community for the Gospel.  We have a local food pantry that we work together with as well as our annual Community Thanksgiving and Easter Services.  The Scott City Food Pantry is always in need of canned goods and non-perishable food items for the needy in our community.  Bring your donations in and place them in the box in the foyers and we will deliver them to the pantry for you.index_08

Options for Women – FBSC is delighted to partner with Options for Women, a pregnancy resource center in Cape Girardeau.  The mission of Options for Women (OFW) is to foster Biblical values of human life, family life, and sexuality by offering hope and help to those in need.  Contact us to find out ways you can help.

Church Van Ministry – First Baptist runs the Church van every Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday Night in order to pick up children, youth and adults who have no other means of transportation.

meals-on-wheelsMeals on Wheels – FBSC has a volunteer schedule for Meals on Wheels.  If you are interested in helping deliver lunch to people in your community, please contact us.
